MINOT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Introducing three brand new attractions to the 2025 Norsk Høstfest: The Lag & Lære Stage in Copenhagen Hall, the Fjord & Folk area of Oslo Hall, and the Livets Loft in Stockholm Hall!
“Lag & Lære” roughly translates to “make and learn” — and that’s exactly what visitors will experience here.
This attraction is perfect for fans of the Høstfest University days and showcases talented crafters and artists from across the region, each ready to share their skills and traditions. Sessions begin at the top of every hour from 10am to 4pm, each day of the festival. Guests can enjoy live demonstrations, including Rosemaling with Joan Varty, Viking bowl-making with David Susag, Ski making with Tarjei Gjelstad who joins us all the way from Norway, and more! Located in Oslo Hall, Fjord & Folk is a special corner of the Høstfest that offers a space to listen and share your history – not just with the festival, but with Scandinavian heritage as a whole! This activity is made possible by organizations like the State Historical Society of North Dakota, and the Sons and Daughters of Norway. Curious about your ancestry? Visit the Genealogy Corner of Fjord & Folk hosted by the Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society. Whether you’re wondering “Where did my ancestors come from?” or looking for help starting your own family tree, they’ll provide guidance and resources to help you begin your family’s story.
Finally, the Norsk Høstfest is proud to introduce the Livets Loft! Part quiet space, part cozy nook to reminisce, we hope you’ll take the time to mosey on by. Located in the Skien Mezzanine, the Livets Loft is meant to invoke the enduring life of the Høstfest – “livets” roughly translates to “of life”. Features include displays of memorabilia from prior festivals, a big-screen video with almost all the footage we could get our hands on, and an interactive memory wall for you to share what Høstfest and the people who’ve been a part of it mean to you, and to see what others share.
