JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of numerous calls coming into their dispatch center where unknown individuals are calling other people and identifying themselves as specific Deputies from the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.
The news release said these unknown individuals are then informing people that they have a warrant, have missed a court date, and that they need to pay a certain amount of money to them over the phone. Please do NOT fall for this scam as we would never call and request anyone to pay over the phone or have you share your credit card information with us, or request that you go buy gift cards for payment.
If you are receiving these types of calls please do not send any money and you can call the sheriff’s office directly at 701-251-6200 and speak with a Deputy to have them answer any questions you may have concerning this scam.
