DICKINSON – In volleyball, serving can make a big difference.  Thursday, it did for Dickenson.

Though Jamestown had more kills, Dickinson had 16 aces in a win over the Blue Jays 17-25, 27-25, 25-17, 28-26 at Dickinson High School.

Lexi Bradley had five aces for the Mavericks (3-7, 2-2 WDA), with Rubi Valencia and Jersi Luchi each serving four.  Jenna Nelson recorded two and Ava Hauck scored one.  Nelson had 23 kills to lead Dickenson, along with 22 digs.  Claire Rodakowski had nine and Luchi had six.  Emersyn Garr had 21 set assists.  Kaley Embry led in digs with 25.  Luchi had four blocks and Kamora Phillips had three.

Lucy Falk registered 19 kills and 19 digs for the Blue Jays (6-4, 3-1 WDA).  Claire Marker had 11 kills.  Hannah Attleson had 30 set assists, 21 digs and two aces.  Jenna Peterson had 26 digs and one ace.  Mari Anderson had four blocks.  Marker, Haley Attleson, Hannah Attleson and Falk had one each.

Down 24-17 in the fourth set, the Blue Jays scored seven points in a row, then saves two more match points at 24-25 and 25-26 before Dickinson prevailed.

Jamestown will next play Thursday at Minot North.
