FREMONT, NE – Jamestown Jimmies ACHA Division 1 Women’s Hockey was overwhelmed Thursday, losing their season opener 6-0 to Midland at Sidner Ice Arena.

Callie Maguire scored twice for the Vikings, who also had goals from Jaicee Huberdeau, Darbi Poole, Ashlyn Kuffler and Kiara McGregor.  Taylor Bell and Grace Page each had two assists.

Lilah Drew made 44 saves on 50 shots in 53 minutes of play in the net for the Jimmies.  Madelynne Sylvestre played the last seven minutes and stopped all three shots she faced.

Midland outshot UJ 53-13.

The Jimmies will play Midland again in Fremont on Friday afternoon.
