
VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Viking volleyball team will be getting used to life in Montana this week.
Valley City State plays at Montana State University-Northern in Havre, MT Friday, then in Great Falls, MT facing #5 University of Providence Saturday. Following the weekend, the Vikings will stay in Montana, facing Rocky Mountain Wednesday in Billings, and wrapping up the trip Thursday in Helena with Carroll College.
The Vikings are 3-5 overall, 1-2 in Frontier Conference play after defeating Mayville State last Wednesday, then falling to Montana-Western and Montana Tech at home Friday and Saturday.
Macy Fridgen leads the Vikings with 84 kills, hitting .159 this season. Danielle Hagler and Morgan Freije each had big weekends last week, with Hagler up to 69 kills, hitting an eye-popping .364. Freije has 62 kills, and is hitting .259. Freije leas the team in blocks, with 32. Hagler has 29.
