COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Jamestown Jimmies Women’s Volleyball, in their last weekend of play before conference action, earned two wins Friday at the Mountain Lion Classic at Colorado-Colorado Springs’ Gallogly Events Center.  Jamestown took a straight set win over Western Colorado 25-19, 25-18, 26-24, then needed five sets to defeat Western New Mexico 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-10.

Ava Mueller and Greta Wise each had nine kills for the Jimmies (3-1). Mueller had two block assists and Wise had one. Corbyn Menz scored eight kills and 10 digs. Charlotte Lempka had seven kills and two solo blocks. Lily Bertsch had 26 set assists. Mia Hinsz led in digs with 16.

Menz and Addison Brooke had kills late in the fifth set as the Jimmies (4-1) held off the Mustangs.

Menz had 15 kills and seven digs. Brooke had 12 kills, hit .409, had a solo block and scored three block assists. Lempka and Mueller had 10 kills each. Lempka had two solo blocks and two block assists. Mueller also had a block assist. Lily Bertsch had 27 set assists, a kill and eight digs. Momoka Minamaya led the Jimmies with 18 digs and served three aces.

On Saturday, the Jimmies will play Millersville University and the host Colorado-Colorado Springs.
