Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Tornadoes struggled to finish off sets 1 and 2 after leading in both sets as they would fall to the Ellendale Cardinals by a final score of 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-18).

The 1st set was a tight back and forth affair with 5 lead changes and 6 ties throughout the set as neither team was truly able to pull away. Late in the set after being tied at 20-20 Oakes would jump to set point at 24-20. The Cardinals would then score the next 6 to win the set 26-24.

Oakes would jump out early in set 2 as they would be dominant at first leading 15-9 at the media timeout. That lead would evaporate quickly as Ellendale would tie it at 16-16 and then go on to win the set by a score of 25-17.

Set 3 started as a back and forth affair with 8 ties and 4 lead changes being tied as late at 13-13. After that Ellendale would run on a 12-5 run to take the set and match winning it 25-18.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Mallory Harris.
