JAMESTOWN – One of the state’s best in AA volleyball was in Jamestown Thursday.  That refers to the Bismarck Demons, but maybe the Jamestown Blue Jays should also be in that conversation.

Jamestown swept Bismarck 25-22, 25-17, 25-18 at Jerry Meyer Arena.

As she has in all of the matches she has played this season, Lucy Falk led Jamestown (8-4, 5-1 WDA) in kills with 19.  She also had two and a half blocks, seven digs, an ace and a set assist.  Hannah Attleson had 24 set assists, four kills, one and a half blocks, 14 digs and an ace.  Mari Anderson scored four kills and three blocks with five digs and two aces.  Claire Marker had three blocks.  Jetta Peterson had 18 digs and Adisyn Yunck had 16.

Jensen Hintz led Bismarck (8-4, 4-2) with nine kills.

The match turned Jamestown’s way late in the first set.  Earlier, the Blue Jays had trailed by five points three different times.  Down 21-17, Jamestown scored five straight points with kills by Falk and Attleson and an ace by Amelia Newman.  Jordyn Rood killed for Bismarck to even the set at 22-22 before the Demons made three of their 25 attack errors to give Jamestown the first set.

Jamestown led 9-3 and 14-6 in the second set and never trailed by less than six after that.

Set three was squared at 10-10 before the Blue Jays had three four-point scoring runs, the last of which ended the match.

Jamestown will next play Tuesday at Minot.
