GRAFTON (NewsDakota)- With their opponents coming off a sweep on the road at the top-ranked team in Class A, it would have been totally reasonable to expect a tight, close match on Thursday night.

Somebody just forgot to tell Carrington that.

The Cardinals used a match-ending 10-3 run to finish off a 25-15, 26-24, 27-25 sweep over the Grafton Spoilers on the road on Thursday night for their seventh consecutive win.

Carrington (9-1, 3-0) dominated the first set with Maara Kutz collecting four of her seven kills as the Cardinals broke open a 12-12 tie on Marah Johnson’s service rally.  In the second set, Grafton (6-7, 1-2) took a lead as large as three points before the Cardinals rallied for the win.  The third set was controlled completely by the Spoilers, who led 22-17.  Carrington tied it at 24 on a net violation and after falling behind on the next point, they rattled off the last three to complete the sweep.

The Cardinals are next in action Tuesday night at home against the Devils Lake Firebirds with coverage beginning at 6:45pm on KDAK The Cardinal and the KDAK The Cardinal YouTube channel.
