VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  The Viking volleyball team finished their week-long trip to Montana with a win in four tries after being swept by Carroll College Thursday night.

Valley City State was stopped 25-17, 25-19, 25-20 Thursday night in Helena, MT.  The loss leaves the Vikings 4-8 this season.

Macy Fridgen led the Vikings with 13 kills.  Molly Bjorneby, receiving more and more playing time as an outside pin, registered seven, and Morgan Freije added six kills and three blocks.

Valley City State faces Bismarck State and Dickinson State next Thursday and Friday night at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
