HAYS, KS – Elias Ovelar Semeniuk scored a hat trick and an assist Saturday as Fort Hays State swept past Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Soccer 9-0 at the FHSU Soccer Stadium.

Ovelar Semeniuk scored his first two goals for the Tigers (4-0-2) just two and a half minutes apart in the first half in the sixth minute and the ninth minute.

Dylan Ashford scored in the 11th minute for FHSU.  Tadhg Walsh was upended in the penalty area by the Jimmies’ Felipe Costa in the 17th minute and then converted the penalty kick for a 4-0 Fort Hays lead.

Lucas Garay added a fifth in the 32nd minute and the Tigers were up 5-0 at halftime.

Ovelar Semeniuk popped in his third goal in the 55th minute.  Mamadou Oumar Ndiaye tallied in the 63rd minute and Jackson Elgas made the lead 8-0 in the 69th minute.  Tim Sallvin closed the scoring in the 86th minute.

FHSU dominated the match, with a shot advantage of 35-3 and 18-2 on target.   For Jamestown (1-5-0), goalkeeper Dawid Chrobot made nine saves.

Jamestown will try to end its five-match losing streak Monday against Newman University in Wichita, Kansas.
