ST. PAUL, MN – The Jamestown Jimmies have been welcomed to the NSIC in women’s volleyball.

Concordia-St. Paul, a traditional volleyball power in the conference, swept UJ Friday 25-13, 25-12, 25-11 at the Gangelhoff Center.

Former Jamestown Blue Jays standout Makenna Nold had eight kills for CSP (5-3, 1-0 NSIC), as did Ellie Sieling and Kaelyn Snoozy.  Nold, who was last year’s NSIC Freshman of the Year and a first-team all-conference member, also had seven blocks and 11 digs for the Golden Bears.

Corbyn Mena, Ava Mueller and Addison Brooke had four kills each for the Jimmies (5-3, 0-1).  Brooke had three blocks and Mueller added two.  Ava Bertsch had nine set assists and sister Lily Bertsch had five.  Momoka Minamaya had 13 digs and an ace.

CSP had 37 kills to Jamestown’s 22 and the Golden Bears outhit the Jimmies .372 to -.010.

Jamestown will play its second NSIC match Saturday against Winona State in Winona, Minnesota.
