FARGO, N.D. (WAI) – The Northern Planes Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) is excited to announce the third annual Girls in Aviation Day, a free event designed to inspire and educate local youth about careers and opportunities in aviation. This year’s event will take place at the Fargo Air Museum on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Our goal is to empower local girls by opening the doors to the many career opportunities available in aviation right here in North Dakota,” says Kate Feitel, President of the Northern Planes Chapter. “Each year, it’s been rewarding to see more families discover the event and watch young people light up as they connect with aviation in new ways.”

“This program is free for all participants and their chaperones,” adds Kate. “We are committed to creating a supportive environment where youth can meet role models, ask questions, and imagine themselves in the world of aviation. We’re also seeking additional volunteers and sponsors to help us make this year’s event a success.”

On October 12, the Northern Planes Chapter will join Women in Aviation International chapters across the globe for this outreach event, uniting to inspire the next generation of women in aviation. Participants can enjoy hands-on STEM activities, connect with professionals from across the industry, and explore modern and historic aircraft on display.

Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for a smoother check-in process: https://qrfy.io/p/kx-sym2NmS. More information and day-of updates can be found on the Girls in Aviation Day Fargo Facebook event page. The first 50 attendees to arrive will receive a special edition event bag.
