CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- For the past three games, the Carrington Cardinals have been searching for the one explosive play to kickstart the offense.

On Friday night, they finally got it.  And then got a whole lot more.

Behind monster games from seniors McKade Zink and Max Whitman, the Cards rolled to a 40-0 homecoming win over the Turtle Mountain Braves on Friday night at Cardinal Stadium.

For the first time all season, Carrington (2-4, 1-3) received the opening kickoff and after a touchback, Zink raced down the sideline 80 yards and thirteen seconds in it was 7-0.  After a three-and-out, Peyton Harrington plunged in from a yard out and it was 14-0.  On the Cards next possession, Whitman found Zink for a 63-yard touchdown pass on third down.

The Braves (0-6, 0-4) drove down the field but on fourth down, Kruze Lafountaine was picked off by Whitman, who raced 90 yards for a pick-six and it was 27-0.  Whitman then scored on a 43 yard TD run and Zink added a three-yard run and it was 40-0 at halftime.

The Cardinals are next in action on Friday night, hosting #1 Langdon Area/Munich with coverage beginning at 6pm on KDAK The Cardinal and KDAK The Cardinal on YouTube.
