uj-ribbon-cutting

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and staff joined the University of Jamestown for a ribbon cutting celebrating the renovation of Voorhees Chapel and the construction of the new Reuben and Clarice Liechty Center for Faith and Life.

This transformational project was made possible in part by a $15 million gift from Jim and Candy Unruh; the largest single donation in university history. The donation supports the creation and naming of the Unruh School of Character in Leadership, located below the chapel, as well as the new addition connecting Voorhees Chapel and the Badal Nafus Center.

The Reuben and Clarice Liechty Center for Faith and Life will serve as a central hub for students, featuring The Well Coffee Bar, expanded seating areas, and access to the dining facility. The lower level houses the Unruh School of Character in Leadership, which includes offices, meeting space, a classroom, and a student lounge dedicated to fostering character and
leadership across campus.

The renovation of Voorhees Chapel preserves its historic stained glass while updating the sanctuary for modern use. The Liechty Center flows into the new Garden Terrace, designed as a student union-style gathering place with stadium seating, academic space, and community areas.

Congratulations to the University of Jamestown on this milestone project, which will continue to inspire generations of students.
