LISBON, N.D. — It was another dominant display by the Valley City Hi-Liners volleyball team, as they swept Lisbon in straight sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-15) on Tuesday night for their fifth straight win, improving to 11-1 on the season.

Valley City rode strong serving in the opening set, recording five aces to take control early. Kadie Kocka and Nora Pederson led the Hi-Liners offensively with timely kills, while Kinlee Sufficool and Brynn Lueck sparked the team from the service line. After some early back-and-forth play, Valley City pulled away late to secure a 25-14 win.

The second set was all Hi-Liners, as Kocka and Pederson continued to pace the attack. Valley City raced out to a 15-1 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 25-9 victory.

The third set followed suit, with Valley City piling up more aces to finish with 12 on the night. Kocka capped her performance with a match-high 19 kills as the Hi-Liners sealed the sweep with a 25-15 win.

Valley City (11-1) will have a week off before facing Kindred on Tuesday, Oct. 7, in a pivotal Region 1 matchup. The match will be broadcast on 1490 AM/96.3 FM KOVC, streamed online at NewsDakota.com and on the KOVC Live YouTube channel.
