Edgeley, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes had the RV EKM Rebels on the ropes late in sets 1 and 3 however they were unable to put those sets away and ended up falling the EKM by a final of 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-23).

Set 1 was a back and forth affair with neither team able to pull away with the largest lead of the set being just 3 points for either team. The set had 9 ties and 6 lead changes through out with Oakes taking a set shot at the set at 24-22. The Rebels wouldn’t go silently however and tie it at 24-24 before winning it at 26-24.

In set 2 the Rebels got off and running after several ties going till 4-4 before they took an 7-4 lead. They’d keep building that lead up to 20-11 and end up winning the set 25-13.

Set 3 was back to what made set 1 close with hard fought points  and 10 ties with 5 lead changes. EKM would take a 14-8 lead at one point before the Tornadoes fought back and eventually tied it at 19-19. It would be tied again and again till 21-21 then EKM would once again jump out to 23-21 before another tie at 23-23. That would be Oakes’ last gasp however as the Rebels would take the next 2 points winning 25-23 and completing the sweep.
