VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City’s newest Police Officer, Cody PerDue was formally sworn in on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, by Valley City’s Mayor Dave Carlsrud.
Officer PerDue grew up in the Valley City area and attended Valley City State University. He later moved to Bismarck, where he worked at the North Dakota State Penitentiary. During this time, he completed training at the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy and went on to serve with the Bismarck Police Department. Eventually, Officer PerDue returned to Valley City, where he now resides with his wife Grace and their daughter.
Police Chief Nick Horner said, “As a young officer eager to serve, Officer PerDue is dedicated to the safety and well-being of the community and is committed to making a positive impact through his work in law enforcement.”
