
VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Viking volleyball team started a tough road trip with a tough loss Wednesday.
Valley City State was swept by Dakota State 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-15) Wednesday night in Madison, SD. It was the first time this season the Vikings did not get to 20 points in any set of a match.
The Trojans hit a blistering .333 on the night, compared to just .109 for the Vikings. Danielle Hagler led the Vikings with nine kills and two blocks. Morgan Freije added seven kills and three blocks. Dakota State had three players reach double figures in kills.
The Vikings are now 4-6 in Frontier Conference play, 6-9 overall. They face fifth-ranked Bellevue University tonight in Omaha, NE.
