VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Saturday, October 11 is set for two bluegrass jamming events at the Vault Coffee Shop (223 Central Avenue North) in Valley City.

The 11:00 am – noon session is the Beginner Bluegrass Jam/Class, featuring easy music and slow paced playing and singing. Most musical numbers are in the bluegrass-friendly key of G and most use only the G and D (or D7) chords. Instruments included are six-string guitar, fiddle, mandolin, 5-string banjo, Dobro guitar, upright bass, and ukulele. We have Instruments on hand to try out. No cost!

The afternoon jam session runs from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and is a regular, open acoustic bluegrass jam for musicians with their basic playing skills in place. Instruments included are six-string guitar, fiddle, mandolin, 5-string banjo, Dobro guitar, and upright bass. There is no charge to participate and listeners are welcome.
