JAMESTOWN – There was plenty of drama in September in Dickinson when the Mavericks held off the Jamestown Blue Jays in a four-set volleyball thriller.  When the teams met again Thursday, there was some drama early, but the Blue Jays made sure there would be no more.

Jamestown swept Dickinson 28-26, 25-15, 25-15 at Jerry Meyer Arena for the Blue Jays’ third consecutive victory.

Lucy Falk again paced Jamestown (11-7, 8-4 WDA).  The junior hitter had 19 kills, 13 digs, two blocks and four aces.  Claire Marker had a strong match, with 10 kills and three and a half blocks.  Mari Anderson scored six kills and one and a half blocks.  Hannah Attleson had 22 set assists and 17 digs.

Jenna Nelson had 11 kills and 14 digs for Dickinson (7-10, 6-5).

In an intense first set, Dickinson led 23-21 before a kill by Haley Attleson and two by Falk set up a set point for Jamestown.  Nelson and Taya Rodakowski answered with kills and Dickinson had set point at 25-24.  Falk then had back-to-back kills and the Blue Jays had another set point at 26-25 before a service error.  A Maverick attack error gave Jamestown a third set point and Falk clinched the set with a block.

Dickinson started the second set with a 7-5 lead, but Jamestown put together a 10-1 run for a 15-8 lead, with Falk scoring two kills and two aces and Marker having three kills.  Dickinson was never closer than five points for the rest of the set.

Three more Falk kills led Jamestown to leads of 8-1 and 11-4 to open the third set.  Dickinson was still down only 14-11, then Falk helped an 8-2 Blue Jay run with three kills and two aces.

Jamestown will meet Legacy in Bismarck on Tuesday.  Coverage will begin at around 6:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
