JAMESTOWN – Another challenge from one of the NSIC’s best clubs was too much for Jamestown Jimmies Women’s Volleyball.

13th-ranked Minnesota Duluth swept the Jimmies Saturday at Harold Newman Arena 25-19, 25-19, 25-20.

Xada Johnson made 13 kills for the Bulldogs (14-2, 7-2 NSIC).  Mollie Rupp had 11 kills, two aces and 11 digs.

Ava Mueller had seven kills for Jamestown (7-9, 2-7).  Caroline Puetz delivered six blocks, while Kyleigh Schopp and Addison Brooke had five each.  Ava Bertsch scored two aces and 17 set assists.  Momo Minamiya was the lead defender with 13 digs.

Poor hitting plagued the Jimmies.  Their percentage was below zero in the first two sets before it improved to .206 in the third set, but ended at just .031, compared to .158 for UMD.  Minnesota Duluth had 40 kills to Jamestown’s 31.

The Jimmies will host Minot State at Harold Newman Arena Thursday at 6:00 PM.
