CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- First-year Carrington volleyball coach Kadyn Mehring has made no secret of the fact that her team wants to continue getting better as they move towards the postseason.

But right now, nobody is saddened by the results.

The Cardinals swept the Kindred Vikings 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-19) on Thursday night inside the East Gym to remain undefeated in best-of-five matches at home this year and improve to 27-4 on the season.

Carrington started red hot in the first set with Harper Kollman on serve and with Marah Johnson and Maara Kutz’ hitting, they never trailed.  In the second set, the Vikings (16-17) took a 22-20 lead before the Cardinals finished on a 5-0 run to take a two set lead.

In the third, the Cards pulled away late with Aniston Hoornaert and Kollman serving well while the team combined for 44 kills on the night.

Carrington conclude the home schedule on Monday night, hosting Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier with coverage on KDAK The Cardinal & KDAK The Cardinal on YouTube beginning at around 6:45pm.
