LAMOURE (NewsDakota)- The number two ranked team in the state had no trouble in the opening round of the 9-man football playoffs on Saturday as LaMoure-Litchville-Marion waxed Four Winds 68-16 at Townsend Field.

The Loboes scored on the first play of the game, courtesy of standout RB Gunner Thielges. The senior ran off left guard and bounced outside and bolted 52 yards for a touchdown. The two point conversion pass was converted when Junior QB Mason Warcken found junior Colby Thielges in the back of the endzone and L-L-M led 8-0 ten seconds into the game and never looked back.
The Loboes scored on all eight of their first half possessions, which included TD runs of 52, 24, 49, 12, 21 and 34 yards from Thielges. The future Bison had 9 carries in the first half for 222 yards and L-L-M went to half with a 62-0 lead. The amazing numbers by Thielges could have been better as he had a 93 yard touchdown run called back in the first quarter due to offensive holding.
With the game out of reach, L-L-M sat their starters the entire second half after posting eye popping numbers in the first 24 minutes of play. The Loboes had 431 yards of offense at the break on just 22 plays which pencils out to 19.5 yards per play. L-L-M finished the game with 548 yards of offense on 38 plays.
The Loboe defense was sharp as well, limiting the Indians to a paltry 63 yards of offense in the first half. Junior Preston Arndt forced and recovered a fumble that set up L-L-M’s fifth touchdown of the game.
Junior Colby Thielges joined in the offensive explosion as he took an end around handoff 79 yards to pay dirt early in the second quarter. Warken added a seven yard TD run late in the first half. Back up QB sophomore Joseph Potts got loose for a 65 yard scoring run late in the third quarter to increase the Loboe lead.
L-L-M improves their record to 9-0 and will host Kidder County in round two on Saturday, November 1st with coverage on Thunder Country 98.3 beginning at 12:30pm. The Wolves rallied to win their first round game on Saturday in Steele 36-28 over Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood. Four Winds season ends at 6-4.
