ST. CLOUD, MN – While the Jimmies did some blocking, the Huskies did a lot of hitting.

11th-ranked St. Cloud State swept Jamestown Jimmies Women’s Volleyball Saturday 25-21,25-14, 25-15 at Halenbeck Hall.

Abby Wachal delievered 11 kills for the Huskies (17-5, 12-2 NSIC) and Emilie Planert notched 10 as St. Cloud State exactly doubled UJ in kills, 50 to 25.

Mya Foslien had eight kills and four block assists for Jamestown (9-12, 4-10).  Kyleigh Schopp had a solo block and six block assists as part of 11 total blocks for the visitors.  Addison Brooke had five kills and four block assists.

While the Jimmies hit .250 in the first set, St. Cloud State served six aces.  Wachal hit three straight to give SCSU a 7-3 lead.

Jamestown was down only 23-21 after kills by Caroline Puetz and Ava Mueller, but a Sam Zimmerman kill for the Huskies and an attack error ended the set.

St. Cloud State grabbed control of the second set with an 8-0 run for a 13-3 lead.  Shelby Kimm had three kills and Carlie Willis served three aces.

In set three, UJ trailed 7-3 before four straight points, two of which were by kills from Corbyn Menz and Puetz.  The Jimmies led 10-9, but St. Cloud State then ripped off 11 of the next 14 points and cruised to the win.
