
Attacker of the Week: Macy Fridgen, Valley City State (N.D.)
She extended her streak over the weekend to four straight matches with at least 11 kills for Valley City State (N.D.). She hit a single-match career high of a career high of a career high .500 in VCSU’s sweep over Rocky Mountain (Mont.).
Fridgen averaged 3.88 kills per set as the Vikings split a pair of Frontier Conference matches. She totaled 17 kills versus (RV) Carroll (Mont.) and 14 kills versus RMC.
This is Fridgen’s first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Defender of the Week: JayCee Richter, Valley City State (N.D.)
Richter, a senior libero from Linton, N.D., was selected as the Defender of the Week.
She picked up her 1,959th career dig which set the Valley City State’s (N.D.) school records in all-time digs in 3-0 victory over Rocky Mountain (Mont.). The old school record of 1,958 digs stood for 30 yards.
Richter finished the week by averaging 8.5 digs per set as the Vikings went 1-1 record. She tallied 47 digs (9.4 digs per set) in 3-2 setback to (RV) Carroll (Mont.). She followed up with 21 digs (7.0 digs per set) in VCSU’s sweep over RMC.
This is Richter’s second career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
