VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Roller skating is back every Sunday afternoon from 1pm to 3pm in the Valley City Recreation Center.

The Kiwanis Club of Valley City has taken over the operation of Sunday roller skating from the Optimist Club. As a part of their mission they are excited to keep this family friendly tradition alive and available in the community.

Spokeswoman Tara Anderson said roller skating is something that is open to all ages. In the last month, I’ve seen those under 5 years old and older.

She said we are open to booking special events as staffing and the schedule allows for the Rec Center. Valley City Parks and Recreation has been generous and helpful.

Cost is $4 per skater, but adults skate free with a child.

Groups or organizations with 10 or more skaters that book in advance during a regular skating session is $3 per skater. For example 4H Clubs, Church and Youth Groups, and Schools. Gift Certificates are also available for the Holidays.

No outside skates will be allowed inside the Rec Center. The floors are beautiful and we want to make sure we don’t damage the floors.
