
JAMESTOWN – She once starred as a Jamestown Blue Jay. Saturday, Makenna Nold returned to Jamestown and helped stop the Jimmies.
Ninth-ranked Concordia-St. Paul swept Jamestown in women’s volleyball Saturday at Harold Newman Arena, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18.
Nold, who was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the Blue Jays two years ago, led the Golden Bears (19-4, 15-1 NSIC) with 16 kills (.333), three block assists and 10 digs. Mehlayna Straub and Kaelyn Snoozy had nine kills each.
Ava Mueller had seven kills (.235) for the Jimmies (9-14, 4-12). Gracie Adamson and Caroline Puetz each scored six kills. Ava Bertsch served two aces. Lily Bertsch had 12 set assists and Ava Bertsch had 11. Momo Minamiya had 18 digs.
CSP hit .284 and had 49 kills to Jamestown’s 33. The Jimmies hit .149.
