
JAMESTOWN – With yet another projected starter out of the lineup, the first season for the Jamestown Jimmies in NSIC women’s volleyball continues to be a major challenge.
Winona State was the latest team to frustrate the Jimmies Friday, earning a sweep at Harold Newman Arena, 25-19, 25-17, 25-14.
Though each team had 36 kills, the difference was a very efficient offense by Winona State (13-10, 8-7 NSIC). The Warriors hit .287 with only nine attack errors. Jamestown (9-13, 4-11) hit only .144 and had 21 errors. Also Winona State had eight blocks with Jamestown having just one, and the Warriors served nine aces while the Jimmies had just two.
Kenna Kornely had 12 kills for Winona State, who completed a regular-season sweep of Jamestown. Abby Ongna had eight kills.
Addison Brooke led Jamestown with nine kills. Ava Mueller and Mya Foslien each had six. Lily Bertsch had 19 set assists and Ava Bertsch notched 11. Mia Hinsz and Momo Minamiya had 10 digs each.
Jamestown will host Concordia-St. Paul, which features former Blue Jay standout Makenna Nold. First serve will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday at Harold Newman Arena.
