MANDAN – Jamestown controlled play and Brandon Weare earned his 23rd career shutout in goal Saturday and Brad Fortin scored a goal and an assist as sixth-ranked Jamestown Jimmies ACHA D1 Men’s Hockey blanked 12th-ranked UMary 4-0 at the Schwan Cadillac Rank at the Starion Sports Complex.

Weare stopped all 22 Marauders shots for Jamestown (10-4-1-0) for his second shutout of the season.

Fortin set up the sixth goal of the season for Cai Robinson at 3:59 of the second period for the game’s first goal.

The Jimmies put the game away with three goals in the third period.  James Hooton scored his fourth goal unassisted at 6:29.  Matthew McIntyre scored his third from Carter Johnson at 9:14.  Fortin scored his fifth on the power play from Trey Stephenson and McIntyre at 18:30.

UJ had a 35-22 shot advantage and was 1-for-4 on the power play.  UMary (9-5-0-0) was 0-for-2.

The Jimmies will play Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia on Thursday and Friday.
