MANDAN – The end of regular season WDA play went like most of the second half of it for Jamestown Blue Jays Volleyball.

Jamestown had efficient attacking Tuesday in a sweep of Mandan 25-18, 25-23, 25-15 at Mandan High School’s Starion Bank Gymnasium.

Jamestown (19-11, 13-5 WDA) made just 11 attack errors in the match in defeating the Braves (10-21, 7-11), who had toppled the Blue Jays in September in Jamestown.

Lucy Falk led Jamestown with 13 kills, three blocks, two aces, and five digs.  Claire Marker scored six kills and two and a half blocks.  Amelia Newman and Haley Attleson had five kills each.  Jetta Peterson scored 17 digs and three aces.  Hannah Attleson had 22 set assists and one and a half blocks.

Anna Lyles, Allyson Holzer and Jersey Hammes each registered six kills for Mandan.

The Blue Jays led 15-14 in the first set before scoring 10 of the last 14 points.  Marker had three kills and a block and Haley Attleson killed to wrap up the set.

Jamestown stormed to a 19-10 lead in set two before Mandan tied twice during a run of 13-4, aided by two and a half blocks from AnnaClaire Bugbee.  But at 23-23, Mandan made an attack error and Marker killed to end the set.

In the third set, Jamestown started with leads of 7-3 and 15-8 before Mandan cut the advantage to 15-11.  With Peterson’s serve, including two aces, the Blue Jays then scored the next seven points.  Falk killed for the 23rd and 25th points.

With the win, Jamestown is the third seed for the AA West Region Tournament.  In the quarterfinal round on Thursday, November 13 in Mandan, the Blue Jays will meet sixth seed Dickinson.  The Jays and Mavericks split their regular season matches, with each team winning at home.  Coverage will begin on Thursday, November 13 at around 6:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
