FREMONT, NE – It wasn’t a win, but at least it wasn’t another loss.
11th-ranked Jamestown Jimmies ACHA Division 1 Women’s Hockey, after taking five losses to top-ranked Midland, earned a 1-1 tie with the Warriors Saturday at Sidner Ice Arena.
Lilah Drew made the difference for the Jimmies (4-7-0-1). The senior goalie made 46 saves, tying for the second-most saves she has made in a game for UJ.
Paige Zimiga scored her first goal as a Jimmie, a shorthanded tally 4:33 into the third period, to tie the game.
Callie Maguire had scored her 16th goal of the season for Midland (18-1-0-2) at 15:03 of the second period.
Midland had 47 shots while UJ had 21. The Jimmies were 0-for-6 on the power play and the Warriors were 0-for-5.
Jamestown will host Minot State Friday at 7:00 PM at Wilson Arena.
