Sophie was born January 29, 1947, to Tosten “Tom” and Sylvia Berneice (Haglund) Royse. She grew up in Valley City, graduated from high school in 1965 and married Loren Lacina in 1969. During her adult life she lived in Washington, Ohio and Florida before settling in California. Throughout her life she worked as a CNA and as a private elderly caregiver. After moving to Manteca, CA she worked many years as a tool department sales associate for Orchard Supply Hardware before retiring.

Sophie is survived by her children, Michael Royse and Shannah Lacina; grandchildren, Brian Royse, Gunner Lacina and Raven Dobar; along with many nephews and nieces including Shelby (Johnson) Schim.

Sophie was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Bill Leach; brother, Tom Royse; sister, Vicky Royse; and grandparents, Helge and Sophia (Evensen) Haglund.
