VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Since the end of last school year, we have been in discussion with the Essentia Health to expand our partnership beyond athletic training, student health advisory, and virtual health, to include school nursing services.

Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Josh Johnson said for the past several years, registered nurse Amanda Nielson, has been providing amazing services for our students and supports for our staff. He said we are excited to finalize an agreement with Essentia Health in the next month and bring this important part-time position back into our school district (hopefully it will be Amanda).

Johnson said we would also like to give a shout-out to Dr. Tanya Diegel with Essentia Health as part of these discussions and partnership. Dr. Diegel has been an awesome unofficial advisor for our school district and has helped initiate and lead our partnership with Essentia that began back in 2018.
