Robert “Bob” Charles McAllister was born on February 22, 1952, to Earl and Violet (Reberg) McAllister in Valley City, ND. Bob grew up on a farm near Oriska with his five siblings. He graduated from Oriska Public School in 1970 and joined the U.S. Navy immediately after high school. Following his military service, he worked on several construction crews before starting his own business, McAllister Construction.
Bob retired several years ago but could always be found in his shop building birdhouses, tables, shelves, or anything family and friends requested. He and his beloved dog, Lacey, had recently returned from a 4,000-mile road trip to visit his stepson, Eric, in North Carolina, along with a few Navy buddies along the way.
Bob is survived by his stepson, Eric (Alicia) Wolfgram of Kitty Hawk, NC; siblings Jim (Bev) of Sanborn, ND; Debbie (Joel) Peterson of Fargo, ND; Connie (Larry) Ochsner of Glyndon, MN; Lori (Pete) Paulson of Valley City, ND; and Rick (Wendy) McAllister of Devils Lake, ND. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and his faithful companion, Lacey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Violet McAllister.
