CARRINGTON (NewsDakota)- The Cardinal boys wrestling team hosted a pair of duals on Thursday and impressed in two wins.
Carrington 53     Thompson 19
The Cardinals opened the duel with  six wins in a row (4 pins, 1 technical fall, 1 forfeit) and held a 35-0 lead. Gabe Inglish (107), Mason Cook (121), Layton Sauvageau (133), Jaxon Wilson (139) all won by fall, Landin  Clifton (114) won by forfeit and Skye Kramlich (127) won by technical fall 17-1 at 1:19 of the first period. The Cards would also pick up 3 more pins from Gabe Clifton at 160, Jacob Hinrichs at 215, and Charlie Jorgenson at 285. Thompson would pickup 2 forfeit wins at 172 and 189 along with wins by Mason Bartels at 145 over Kallen Wolsky (5-3 decision) and a 11-0 major decision for Hudson Goldade over Michael Vandehoven .
Carrington 48     Rugby 0
The Cardinals shutout the Rugby Panthers winning 7 matchups and 2 wins by forfeit (Kallen Wolsky at 145 and Michael Vandehoven at 152). The duel had 4 double forfeits at 114, 127, 172, and 189. Winning by fall for the Cardinals included Skye Kramlich (133), Jaxon Wilson (139), Gabe Clifton (160), Jacob Hinrichs (215), and Gabe Inglish (107). Other Cardinals picking up wins were Mason Gook (121) with a 11-5 decision and Charlie Jorgenson (285) with a 7-3 victory.
The Cards will travel to Velva on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Velva Invitational tournament.  Coverage begins at 3:15pm on Friday and 10:00am on Saturday on KDAK The Cardinal.
