Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Girls wrestling team had their first official weekend of competition as they took part in the Lisbon Dual Tournament on Friday and the Knights of Columbus Tournament on Saturday.

The Lisbon Duals saw Oakes go 0-5 as they would lose to Dickinson 60-10, Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie 48-15, Lisbon 60-18, Bismarck 64-9, and Northern Cass 48-12.

The Knights of Columbus Tournament in Jamestown saw Marlize Lourens pick up 3rd place at 106 beating Spencer Brown via fall 3:16 into the match.

Next up for the Tornado Girls is the Border Battle Tournament in Ashley on December 20th.
