
LEXINGTON, KY – Makenna Nold made history in Jamestown, and continues to do so at the next level.
Nold, who is her in sophomore season at Concordia St. Paul, was named Wednesday as the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Player of the Year.
Nold has 496 kills this season, or 4.28 per set. That leads the NSIC and is 14th in Division II. Her 5.18 points per set are eighth in the country. She has 15 double-doubles (kills & digs) this season and has had at least 20 kills in six matches.
Makenna has been named as both an Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week in the NSIC this season. She was also named as the NSIC Player of the Year and was voted first-team all-conference for the second straight season.
While at Jamestown High School, Nold won the Gatorade North Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year award in 2023 as she helped the Blue Jays to the Class A semifinals.
CSP won this year’s NSIC regular season title and is 29-5 after winning the NCAA Central Region championship last week. The Golden Bears will play Gannon (PA) on Thursday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the NCAA Division II national quarterfinal round.
