HORACE, N.D. (CCSO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with Southern Valley Fire & Rescue, the West Fargo Fire Department, the North Dakota Highway Patrol, and Sanford Ambulance, responded to a residential structure fire just south of Horace on Wednesday, December 10th.

Information relayed to first responders indicated that the homeowner had returned home and discovered the residence filled with smoke. Upon arrival, fire personnel were able to contain the fire inside the structure.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has identified the fire victim as 64-year-old Rebecca Bass, who was located deceased inside the residential structure.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Southern Valley Fire & Rescue, will continue to investigate this incident.
