Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—The Carrington girls wrestling team scored 66 team points and finished in eighth place at the 2025 Al Larson Invitational tournament. Khendra Garcia (SR.) 9-1 was the only finalist for the Cardinals and she won a thrilling 2-1 sudden victory overtime title match against top seeded Webeline Naklen of Fargo. Garcia also defeated Mylee Christianson (Valley City) 4-2 in the semifinals. Christianson defeated Garcia earlier this season for her only loss of the season at the Minot tournament. Madelina Ciuboteraenu(142) finished in fifth place going 4-1 0verall on the day. Ciuboteraenu won 3 matches by pin and another by major decision and lost to runner-up Grace Lemar of Central Cass 7-2 in the quarterfinals. Nevaeh Sorenson (190) finished in fourth place going 1-2 overall and received a first round bye. Bismarck Legacy won the team title scoring 158.5 points with Minot High finishing a close second with 157.5 points. Lisbon would finish in third place with 124, Pembina County North 111, and Valley City 105 rounded out the top 5 teams. South Border and Central Cass tied for 6th place with 82 points and Carrington followed with 66. thirty one teams competed with 388 girls in the tournament.

The Carrington girls will host the Lisbon Broncos on Thursday night in a girls/boys dual with coverage on KDAK on YouTube beginning at 5:45PM.
