
Jamestown Blue Jays Basketball closed their non-conference schedules with losses on Saturday. The Blue Jay boys held a halftime lead before falling to Devils Lake 70-48 at Jerry Meyer Arena. Jamestown’s girls also lost for the first time this season, 62-51 at Fergus Falls (MN).
Boys: Devils Lake 70, Jamestown 48
Devils Lake (2-0), the third-ranked team in Class A, trailed Jamestown (2-1) 31-30 halftime before a second-half surge. The Firebirds outscored the Blue Jays 40-17 in the second 18 minutes.
Max Palmer scored 28 for Devils Lake, hitting six three-pointers. Bryar Exner had 15 points and Mason Palmer scored 11.
Abel Dolokelen led Jamestown with 17 points. Edison Walters, who had scored 32 in a comeback win Friday over Fargo South, was held to 11 points.
Both Blue Jay teams will open WDA play against Bismarck Century on Tuesday at Jerry Meyer Arena. Coverage will begin at around 5:30 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
