
Lisbon, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes picked up their first win of the season against the Lisbon Broncos. The Tornados rode a 3rd quarter high to pick up the dominant 37-15 win.
The game started slowly for both teams as they couldn’t get their feet under them. Oakes would take the early 9-5 lead through the first quarter shooting only 3/9 from the field and 3/4 from the line. Lisbon would go 3/12 from the field and 1/2 from the line. The second quarter saw even less scoring with only one field goal between both teams seeing the Tornadoes go 1/8 and the Broncos shooting 0/7. Oakes would go 4/7 from the line however to get them a 15-8 lead at the half.
The 3rd quarter saw Oakes blow the game open scoring 12 and allowing only one Lisbon basket in the quarter as they took a dominant 27-10 lead. They would lock it up in the 4th with more dominant defensive play to take home the 37-15 win.
The Tornados shot 12/37 on the night from the field and 12/21 from the charity stripe they were led in scoring by Isabellle Friedt who had 21 going 8/15 from the field and 4/6 from the line. Lexi Harris also had 9 going 2/7 from the field and 5/7 from the stripe.
Lisbon shot 6/38 on the night and 2/9 from the line. They were led by Brynley Differding who had 6 going 3/8 from the field.
