VALLEY CITY, ND  (Ryan Cunningham, NewsDakota.com)  One of Valley City’s own will stay home to play college basketball.

Dacota Potratz has signed a letter of intent to play women’s basketball at Valley City State University.

Potratz is a three-year starter for the Hi-Liner girls, who won the state Class “A” title last season.  Her accolades include being named to the Barnes County Tournament’s All-Tournament team three times, including last week, as well as being named to the Region 1A All-Region team twice previous to this year.

Potratz led the Hi-Liners in assists, with 101, and blocked shots, with 37 last season, and was selected as a ND Attack All-Star in club basketball this past summer.
