JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Hockey picked up its first win of the season on Friday at Wilson Arena, defeating Minot United 2-0.
Jamestown (1-4-0-1, 1-4-0-0 League) broke a scoreless tie with a pair of goals in period two. Grace Allmaras blasted home her fourth of the season with a power play goal at the 7:21 mark, assisted by Layni Bakalar and Stella Belzer. Addy Gerhardt smacked in her second of the season to double the lead at the 10:59 mark with assists to Allmaras and Leah Hagan. The Jays hadn’t scored a goal this season in period two coming into the match up with the Magicians (1-4-1-0, 0-4-1-0).
Ady Bakalar kicked out 22 shots and registered the shutout as the Blue Jays out shot Minot United 36-22.
The Jays will try to make it two wins in a row when Williston comes to Wilson Arena for a Saturday matinee at 1:00 PM. This will be Jamestown’s final game of 2025 as the Jays will have a couple weeks off for the holidays and won’t return to action until January 3rd at Legacy-Bismarck.
