
VALLEY CITY, ND (Ryan Cunningham, NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner wrestling teams hosted their holiday tournaments Friday and Saturday.
Deegan Krischenmann, Mylee Christianson, and Katherine Russell paced the Hi-Liner girls Friday with runner-up finishes. Kirschenmann won two matches before falling in the finals for her first loss of the year, finishing second at 142 pounds. Kirshenmann is now 14-1 this season.
Christianson won a pair of matches, both by fall, before being defeated in the finals at 148. She is now 10-3 this season.
Russell won three matches before the finals, all by fall, at 170 pounds. She is now 12-3 this season.
On the boys’s side, Simon Trapp and Ryer Muske led the Hi-Liners with runner-up finishes at 107 and 215, respectively. Muske shut out three opponents in tight matches to make the final before falling to the top seed 11-4.
Trapp was the top seed, received a bye, then shut out a pair of opponents before being upset in the final 4-1
