JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 45-year-old Michael P. Romans of Jamestown is facing a felony charge of corruption or solicitation of a minor.

According to court documents Romans, a teacher at Gussner Elementary and volunteer firefighter, allegedly had a sexual relationship with a Jamestown Public School student over the course of one to two years.

Romans made an initial court appearance on December 30th in Southeast District Court in Jamestown. Judge Troy LeFevre set Romans bail at $50,000 cash during the hearing. His next court appearance is set for January 21st.

Romans has been placed on administrative leave from both Jamestown Public schools and the city of Jamestown as the case remains under investigation.
