MINOT – For a brief time, Jamestown Blue Jays Girls Basketball stayed right with the top-ranked AA team on Tuesday.  But then, Minot showed again why they have that ranking.

The Majettes ran past the Blue Jays 78-48 at the Magic City campus.

A foul line jumper by Adisyn Yunck exactly halfway through the first half brought Jamestown (2-5, 0-4 WDA) to within a point of Minot, whose lead was only 20-19.  After that, Minot (8-0, 4-0) scored the next 12 points and held the Blue Jays scoreless for 4:45.  Gradually, the Majettes continued to build their lead to 47-30 at halftime and held Jamestown to just 18 points in the second half.

Leelee Bell, the all-time leading AA/A scorer, had 24 points for Minot.  Maggie Fricke scored 17 and Eve Knutson tallied 13.

Yunck led the Blue Jays with 12 points.  Milan Martin scored nine.

The Blue Jays will host Bismarck at Jerry Meyer Arena on Friday.
