
JAMESTOWN – From the start, Minot made it clear that they didn’t make the trip to Jamestown to fool around.
The Magicians started the game on a 29-7 run and easily defeated Jamestown Blue Jays Boys Basketball 79-47 Tuesday at Jerry Meyer Arena.
Minot (5-2, 3-1 WDA) shot 68 percent in the first half and led 48-25 after 18 minutes.
Jamestown (2-5, 0-4 WDA) made only two three-pointers and allowed several offensive rebounds to a Minot front line with plenty of length.
Drew Jordan led four Minot double-figure scorers with 19 points, 14 of which came in the first half. Patrick Shanahan had 15 points, Tayvin Archer added 14 and 6’9″ post player Oakley Trueblood scored 11 with 11 rebounds.
Edison Walters led Jamestown with 16 points. Eric Van Berkom notched 10.
Jamestown will host Bismarck Friday at Jerry Meyer Arena.
