FESSENDEN (NewsDakota)- The Carrington offense has been looking for the ball to go in a lot more often as of late, and on Thursday, that is exactly what they got.

Freshman Mya Neis buried four threes and scored a game-high fifteen points off the bench as the Cardinal girls routed Harvey/Wells County 65-32 in Region 2A play.

The Cardinals (6-3, 3-1 Region 2A) scored a season-best 26 points in the first quarter thanks to three triples by Neis, part of a quarter that saw Carrington hit six of their season-high eleven threes.  The second quarter saw three more threes as the Hornets (5-7, 0-4 Region 2A) switched from zone to man defense.

Sienna Topp scored all seven of her points after halftime while Maara Kutz added thirteen points while locking down the Hornets’ offensively.  Rachel Neumiller led Harvey/Wells County with 13 points.

The Cardinals are back in action at home on Monday night, hosting Four Winds/Minnewaukan with coverage on KDAK The Cardinal and KDAK The Cardinal on YouTube beginning at around 6:45pm.
