VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Katherine Russell wrestled in the Rumble on the Red wrestling tournament held at the Fargodome on January 2 and 3, 2026. She turned in her best performance of her career by pinning all five opponents she faced. All 5 pins were in the first period. Her semi-final match was against a top Minnesota wrestler that was 19-1, and her finals match was against #1 Ranked Lainy Jochim from Mandan, who was undefeated at 20-0 this season entering her match vs Katherine. Katherine pinned Jochim 1 minute and 9 seconds into the first period. With that win and tournament performance, Katherine is now the #1 ranked wrestler in North Dakota at 170lbs.
